Council’s Major Accomplishments

Faculty Council Proposals:

1. Legislation #2014-22(B) – Establishments of an HIV/AIDS Institute. Approved by the Senate on 2/15/15; Approved by the President on 3/16/15; Pending Board of Trustees Approval.

2. Proposal to establish a Department of Interventional Radiology; Approved by the Council on 6/19/14..

3. Proposal for a Ph.D. Degree in Prevention Science & Community Health; Approved by the Council on 8/13/14.

4. Proposal to establish a Bioethics & Health Policy Institute; Approved by the Council on 2/11/15.

5. Name change of the Department of Pathology to the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine; Approved by the Council on 2/11/15.

6. Proposal to amend the Voluntary and Affiliated Faculty Manuals; Approved by the Council on 2/24/15.

7. Proposal to establish a Women in Academic Medicine Group; Approved by the Council on 2/24/15.

8. Proposal for a one year program for MS in Biostatistics; Approved by the Council on 4/14/15.

9. Establishment of a Medical Librarian Track and a Medical Library Director; Endorsed by the Council on 4/14/15.
